    PLEASE READ THE PERMIT WORKER GUIDELINES AND FILL OUT THE APPLICATION BELOW:

    • As a permit worker, you are permitted, at the discretion of the Business Agent and/or Call Steward, to work in the Local’s jurisdiction in the theatres, concert halls, arenas or venues covered by our contracts.

    • Being on the permit list, is in no way is a promise of employment or membership.

    • All work referrals come from the Call Steward or Business Agent, including any call-backs.

    • It is solely your responsibility to stay in contact with offices of the Business Agent and Call Steward to keep them apprised of your availability and skills.

    • Once on a call, you take direction from your assigned Head of Department, the Head Carpenter or Crew Chief at the workplace.

    • When working for the Local, the permit worker shall receive the same rate of pay, the same breaks and amenities offered to the members of the local working under the same contract.

    • You will pay 5% Permit Fees (deducted by the employer)

    • As all Journeymen and Apprentices will be offered work first, Permit Workers will be contacted as needed. If you have skills in high demand, it is in your best interest to make sure that the Committee, the Call Steward and the Business Agent are aware of these skills. When you take new courses that improve your skills or obtain certificates to allow new machine or equipment operation, it is your responsibility to inform the aforementioned offices.

    • The Permit & Candidates Committee, the Call Steward and Business Agent will monitor your work within the Local accepting feedback from the Department Heads, Head Carpenters or Crew Chiefs

    • In order to be considered for membership in the future, you must meet the criteria set out by the Permit and Candidates Committee. This information is available from the Committee, the Call Steward, the Business Agent and web site.

    • It is highly recommended that you keep a record of all calls that you take – this information will be invaluable should you pursue membership in the future.

    • Note for all Work Calls:
      1. You must be presentable, neat and tidy, and ready to work 15 minutes before the call – The Call Steward will inform you of outdoor work or additional requirements for a call.

      2. Hard hat and safety boots required for all work calls unless otherwise noted (additional Personal Protective Equipment may be required depending on the call)

      3. Valid Working-at-heights certification is recommended for all permit workers

      4. All certifications must be in-hand at work sites in the event verification is necessary. A copy should be sent to the Union Office

    Permit Fee Authorization:
